Common questions, answered.
A few of the things people most often ask before starting a project with us. If your question isn't here, just get in touch — we're happy to help.
How do we get started on a project?
Send us a message through the contact form or by email with a little about your business and what you need. We reply quickly and, once the direction is clear, send a written proposal listing the scope, deliverables, timeline, and price.
How much will my project cost?
It depends on the scope, but you can see typical starting prices on our pricing page. After we understand your goals, we send an itemised estimate — so you know exactly what you're paying for before any work begins.
What are your payment terms?
We take 30% of the total budget as an advance before work begins, with the balance billed at agreed milestones and the final payment due before launch or handover. Full details are on our work policy page.
How long does a project take?
A small website is often a few weeks; larger sites and custom systems take longer. The biggest factor is how quickly content, materials, and approvals come back to us. Your proposal always includes a realistic timeline for your specific project.
Do you work with clients in the United States and overseas?
Yes. We're based in Kyoto and work regularly with clients in the United States and worldwide. We communicate clearly in English throughout, work asynchronously across time zones, and keep progress reviewable so distance never gets in the way of a good result.
How do time zones and communication work with a US client?
The time difference is an advantage: work often progresses while your team is offline, so you wake up to updates. We run projects asynchronously — clear written summaries, reviewable milestones, and scheduled calls when they help — and reply within one business day. For most projects, a few overlapping hours are more than enough.
Isn't hiring a studio in Japan expensive?
Usually the opposite. With current exchange rates, US and overseas clients get genuinely high-end design and engineering at a cost that is very competitive against comparable agencies at home — without lowering the bar on quality. You get senior, design-driven work at a favourable rate.
Do you offer white-label development for design agencies?
Yes. We work as a confidential, NDA-ready white-label partner for design agencies — building your Figma designs pixel-perfect in code or WordPress, under your brand. Because we design as well as engineer, we reproduce design intent faithfully without a heavy spec. See our white-label service.
Do you provide support after launch?
Yes. We fix genuine bugs in what we built free of charge for 30 days, and we offer optional maintenance plans for ongoing updates, monitoring, security, and improvements — so your site or system keeps working well over time.
Can you work with WordPress or take over an existing site?
Yes. We build WordPress themes, blocks, and custom plugins, and we're happy to take over, fix, or finish an existing site or system you already have — not only build from scratch.
